Channel 4's biggest drama of 2025 so far, Patience, is set to return for a second season.

The first series, which aired earlier this year, follows autistic Yorkshire Police Criminal Records Officer worker Patience Evans (Ella Maisy Purvis), whose unique crime-solving skills are noticed by DI Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser). The pair team up to solve a series of complex murders.

Patience's first season averaged 4.2 million viewers, making it the biggest drama of 2025 so far for Channel 4.

It has been confirmed that filming has commenced on a second season, with Purvis returning as Patience and Spaced actor Jessica Hynes joining the cast as DI Frankie Monroe.

Patience season two will run for eight episodes rather than six, but a release date has not yet been announced.
