Martin Clunes' remake of the classic 1970s BBC series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin has just been added to Prime Video in the UK.

Released in 2009, the sitcom, which was renamed Reggie Perrin, follows Clunes as the titular character, a middle-aged executive who has become frustrated with the state of his life.

Seasons one and two of the show, which co-stars Fay Ripley and Lucy Liemann, are now available to stream on Prime Video.

A synopsis for season one reads: "Reggie Perrin is feeling frustrated and alienated after ten years working at Groomtech. With his wife Nicola too busy for him, he becomes besotted with new colleague Jasmine."

Airing between 1976 and 1979, the original show ran for three seasons and starred Leonard Rossiter in the lead role alongside Coronation Street legend Sue Nicholls.

In the original show, which is available to stream for free in the UK on BBC iPlayer, Rossiter played a bored, middle-aged executive who fakes his own death to start a new life.

Meanwhile, Clunes recently shared an exciting update on his beloved ITV drama Doc Martin, hinting at the show's possible return.

After an impressive 18 years on air, the show came to an end in 2022 with a Christmas special. However, back in January Clunes revealed that there had been discussions about making a Doc Martin movie, saying "it could happen".

"There was talk from one of the movie distributors about making a film version of Doc Martin, and my answer at the moment, two years on from finishing the 10th and final series, is never say never – it could happen," he said (via The Sun).

"We did film a couple of feature-length Christmas specials which ran to 90 and 120 minutes and that proved we could pull it off, when it comes to making a longer version of Doc Martin. So it is possible."

Reggie Perrin seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Prime Video.
