Chris McCausland has confirmed his next TV role on the BBC, with the comedian set to front a "personal" documentary.
The reigning Strictly Come Dancing champion has been confirmed as the presenter for Seeing into the Future, an hour-long documentary in which McCausland explores his own personal relationship with technology via a trip to Silicon Valley.
"I've always been a tech nerd, and now I can't wait to finally get to count this indulgence as work," said McCausland in a statement. "I'm going to love trying out the latest gadgets and gismos before anybody else can.
"I'm also going to try and make friends with some robots, because it probably won't be long until they're in charge of us all," added the comedian, who lifted the Glitterball trophy with Dianne Buswell.
"We’re delighted to be working together again on this fascinating and fun journey into Chris’s own relationship with technology and a brave new world of cutting-edge AI, robotics and driverless cars," added Andy Thistlewood, Executive Producer for Open Mike Productions.

"He can crack jokes, he can dance, he has hosted his own TV shows… but his real passion is technology," reads the synopsis. "Chris has a condition called retinitis pigmentosa which led him to gradually lose his sight from birth. By his early twenties, he was completely blind.
"It is this that has led Chris to his unique relationship with technology. Whereas for sighted people, innovations such as the iPhone and voice interactive smart assistants are nice things to have, for Chris, they have been life changing.

"Chris is a tech junkie. He studied software engineering at university and can’t wait to get his hands on the next generation of mind-blowing devices. From robots and driverless cars, to A.I. and the future of smart glasses, he’s champing at the bit to find out what the future holds."
Whilst Seeing into the Future currently has no release date, fans of McCausland can view the comedian in his natural habitat in Chris McCausland: Live, a comedy special which was filmed at Shepherd's Bush Empire in 2023 and is available to stream on Netflix.
