I'm A Celebrity star Toby Anstis has revealed the real reason why he turned down dating shows.

Appearing on best's Suddenly Single podcast, Anstis opened up about his dating life to hosts Siobhan Wykes and Tim Vincent.

Asked why he turned down offers to appear on dating shows, the Heart radio Breakfast DJ said he's been through therapy and is happily single.

"I feel very grateful and happy in life. I don’t have to be in a relationship," he said.

"I’ve done a lot of therapy, a lot of work on myself, so I feel like I’m in a good place so I wouldn’t want to throw my vulnerability out there on a dating show. To be filmed going through all of that… you don’t have to do that on an app."

Speaking about dating apps, the presenter, who appeared on season 6 of I'm A Celebrity back in 2006, said that people often think his profile is fake.

"I’ve had quite a few people saying 'you’re a catfish, I hope Toby knows you’ve nicked his photos'," Anstis said.

He continued: "It doesn’t matter what you do for a living, we are all entitled to try and find an amazing person. We’re all allowed to be out there, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a nurse or a presenter. People shouldn’t feel objectionable to people who have a profile, saying 'what are you doing trying to get a date on here.'"

Elsewhere in the interview, Anstis opened up about his rumoured 2013 romance with Priscilla Presley, revealing that the pair were just acquaintances and shared a "friendly dinner" after meeting through mutual friend Warwick Davis.

He said: "The incredible thing was sitting with Priscilla and her talking to us about Elvis and their life in Graceland. I had a bit of an out of body experience – I’m with Priscilla and she’s talking about The King. I count myself lucky to have met her as she’s a charming, lovely woman, but that was that."
