BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty got the giggles on today's show as she suffered an on-air oopsie.

As Naga and her co-host Charlie Stayt linked from the weather to the next item, there was a loud noise.

As she jumped back a bit in her chair and scrunched her face, Charlie asked her: "Are you so angry about this next story that you're kicking things under the table? Is that what's happening here?"

"It was my water bottle!" Naga replied after laughing and quickly composing herself, before saying that their next segment is something that "riles" her.

The duo proceeded to the topic in question – about people playing music out loud on public transport rather than using headphones, and the Liberal Democrats' suggestion that there should be a ban as well as fines for not complying.

What to Read Next

Outside of presenting the news, Naga has a book coming out next month.

Called It's Probably Nothing, the book explores the healthcare obstacles women when trying to get diagnosed and treated, and aims to empower women by highlighting how things can change for the better.

Back in 2023, the presenter opened up about a debilitating condition she has been coping with since her teenage years: adenomyosis.

It arises when endometrial tissue grows into the muscular walls of the uterus, and can cause an array of symptoms that include heavy bleeding during menstruations and pelvic cramps.

Naga said that she "went through this for 32 years before being diagnosed", and it wasn't until a recent bout of bleeding "for 30 days on the trot" that she was told she has the condition.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One and streams on iPlayer.
