Doctor Who fans are “manifesting” the return of an iconic villain after a famous face was spotted at the premiere for the upcoming 15th season.
The BBC’s sci-fi series is due to return later this month (April 12) with its latest season, continuing the story of the iconic Time Lord (Ncuti Gatwa) as he adventures with Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) and new companion, Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu).
As the trio and their fellow co-stars arrived at London’s Leicester Square for the world premiere of the season, it was a former actor who got fans talking, with several eagle-eyed viewers spotting Michelle Gomez at the event.
The actor of course played Missy, the female incarnation of The Master, during the Peter Capaldi era of the show, with the character regenerating into the Lumiat after tragically dying after redeeming herself.
Gomez’s appearance at the premiere led fans to speculate that Missy could somehow make a return in the 15th season, with one hopeful viewer writing on Instagram: “Manifesting missy’s appearance now😭.”

“WHAT ABOUT MICHELLE GOMEZ?!IS SHE COMING BACK?! ISTG I'LL DIE IF SHE DOESN’T” remarked another fan, with several others asking if the actor would be reprising her role as the iconic character.
Gomez, who has also starred on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Flight Attendant, has previously spoken to Digital Spy about the possibility of reprising her role as Missy, saying in 2020 that it wasn’t a “closed chapter”.
“It's never a closed chapter as far as Doctor Who is concerned!” said the actor. “I would love to, at some point, pop back up again. That's a firm, ‘Yes, I am available’. Well, I'm not actually. Not right now. But I will be. I will be!”

Whilst some fans were eager to know if Gomez was a part of the 15th season, several others took to the comment section to offer their thoughts on the cast’s attire, with one remarking that the group was a “slay in all the best ways”.
“Sometimes you can’t tell if Ncuti is in costume or just out in his normal clothes” wrote another fan about the lead star, with a third commenting that Gatwa looked “amazing whatever he wears.”
