Last One Laughing has surged up the UK streaming charts, overtaking previous rising hit Wheel of Time.
Taskmaster favourites such as Lou Sanders, Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett and Sara Pascoe feature in this comedy show with one simple premise: you’re not allowed to laugh.
Hosted by Jimmy Carr, the show follows a group of comics as they’re locked in a room together and try to make the others giggle, with Carr announcing in a deadpan delivery in the trailer: “I haven't laughed since the 90s."
The show dropped its first four episodes on March 20 and has already climbed to second place on Prime Video's top 10 chart in the UK.

It’s beaten only by action crime series Reacher, which has held the top spot for almost 200 days. Last One Laughing now lands ahead of Rosamund Pike's Wheel of Time, which entered the charts after the release of its third series.

This is the first time Last One Laughing has appeared in the UK, but the show format has already had success across the world, with versions of the show appearing in Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany and Ireland, with the latter being hosted by Graham Norton. It’s adapted from a Japanese gameshow called Documental, which began airing in 2016.
The show's synopsis teases: "Over the course of the series, they will use every ounce of their comedic talents to try and break their opponents without cracking up themselves."

"And it’s not just their rivals they need to watch out for," it adds, teasing "comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to lure a smile from the players and belly laughs from viewers".
"The rules are simple: laugh and you’re out. It’s a stellar line up of British comedy talent as you’ve never seen them before, but who will be crowned the inaugural winner of Last One Laughing UK?"
The first four episodes of Last One Laughing are out now on Prime Video, with the final two airing on March 27.
