Sophie Rundle and Lorraine Ashbourne's crime drama After the Flood has revealed new cast additions as filming for the second series gets under way.
The ITV drama, which confirmed a new series last year, stars Sophie Rundle (Peaky Blinders and Gentleman Jack) in the role of PC Joanna Marshall, who’s determined to investigate the circumstances of an unidentified body that appears after her Yorkshire town is hit by a horrendous flood.
The show’s second series will feature returning cast members Lorraine Ashbourne (Bridgerton) as Joanna’s mum Molly as well as Nicholas Gleaves as DS Phil Mackie, a friend of Joanna’s late father Brendan.

New cast members are set to join the new series, including Alun Armstrong, Jill Halfpenny and Ian Puleston-Davies.
Other new cast members include Matthew McNulty, Oliver Nelson, Roger Morlidge, Lola Brown and Tony Marshall.

The show’s first series divided critics with some loving the show’s whodunnit village mystery drama, while others criticised the show’s complicated plot structure.
In Digital Spy’s review of the first series, we wrote: “If you don't take it all too seriously and are prepared not to overthink some of the more far-fetched directions that After the Flood tries to take you in, there's enjoyment to be found.”
A release date for After the Flood series two is yet to be announced. Series one is streaming now on ITVX.
