Daddy Issues season 1 spoilers follow.

Aimee Lou Wood's BBC comedy series Daddy Issues has been given an exciting look at its second season.

The show first premiered last year, and follows Wood's character Gemma as she moves into a flat share with her father Malcolm (David Morrissey) after learning she is pregnant.

New filming pictures for season 2 have now emerged, which show Gemma pushing her baby Sadie (or at least a doll version) – whom she gave birth to at the end of season 1 – in a pram.

The new episodes are set to look at the new family dynamic after the baby's birth.

What to Read Next

Daddy Issues drew acclaim after its debut last year, sitting at 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with The Guardian's Lucy Mangan calling it "daft, honest, funny and tinged with bleakness" in a four-star review.

The Times' Camilla Long added that the show was "delightful", while The Standard's Emma Loffhagen said it was a "sharp, sweet and incessantly witty take on parenthood, female friendships and mid-life crises".

The six-episode second season was announced last September, Wood saying at the time: "Daddy Issues is the most fun I've had on a job and I can't wait to do it again!

"I'm so excited to see what [creator] Danielle [Ward] has cooking for Malcolm, Gemma, Sadie and the gang. I just know it's going to be hilarious and heart melting."

Ward added: "A second series? And I've found out by reading this press release? Unbelievable. I'm thrilled to be writing for Aimee and David (and the rest of this fabulous cast) again.

"I love the Moscrips and can't wait to crack on with their continuing adventures. Sure, a bit of a break would be nice but my hair will grow back, right?"

Wood, who originally rose to fame on Netflix's Sex Education, is currently starring in the third season of The White Lotus as Chelsea.

Daddy Issues is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and airs on BBC Three.
