Silent Witness star Emilia Fox has teased details about her character Dr Nikki Alexander's upcoming wedding to her on-screen fiancé, Jack Hodgson.
During season 27 of the hit BBC One crime drama, Jack pulled a ring out of an evidence bag and proposed to Nikki, who said yes.
Speaking to hosts Vernon Kay and Alex Jones on today's (January 13) The One Show, Fox gave an insight into what to expect from season 28 of the crime show, which is currently airing weekly on the BBC.

Asked if a Silent Witness wedding was on the cards, Fox said that this series will see Nikki and Jack attempt to plan their wedding, which will prove overwhelming for Nikki.
Fox said: "Well, yes it's been bubbling along for a long time hasn't it? Their friendship and then their getting together and seeing whether they can work together and love each other. And we wanted to portray a healthy relationship on the screen and then now there's that commitment that's been made.

"And with this series we see Jack trying to plan the perfect wedding and Nikki's sort of paralysed by how much there is to put in for arranging a marriage, so she doesn't even know where to begin.

"And then Kit and Harriet are the observers of what's going on in their relationship and they, sort of, give their input and then we'll see what happens."
With the hosts joking that the wedding reception marquee could be made from forensic tents, Fox then quipped that the "white suit" she wears as a forensic pathologist could double up as her character's wedding dress.
Meanwhile, joining Fox on the couch, was newcomer to the series Francesca Mills, who plays crime analyst Kit Brooks, who revealed that she kept getting the part a secret from her mum, saying: "I kept it to myself up to the point where I had a screen test with Millie [Emilia] and David."
Silent Witness season 28 airs weekly on BBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 9pm.
