Channel 4 has released a first-look trailer for Brian and Maggie.

The new two-part series recreates the 1989 interview between former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Harriet Walter) with Brian Walden (Steve Coogan) – the late Labour MP and notorious political interviewer.

The trailer shows Walter and Coogan, unrecognisable as Walker and Walden, as having a close friendship that ended abruptly following the now infamous interview.

The trailer shows the pair's friendship beginning with Walden's first-ever TV interview on Weekend World, with Thatcher proving very particular about camera angles and props.

Following their first meeting the two hit it off and seem in regular contact with one another, until the disastrous 1989 interview, which is teased right at the end.
