Missing You star Rosalind Eleazar has revealed she almost missed out on the leading role.

Appearing on The One Show with her co-star Richard Armitage (January 7), the actor recalled how the audition for the Harlan Coben drama came about as the same time as her wedding, when she'd asked her agent to pause any upcoming job offers.

"I got married last year and I said can I have some space around the wedding, as you do, and so the day after my wedding when I was about to go on my honeymoon I got an email," she told hosts Gabby Logan and Lauren Laverne.

"They said 'I'm really sorry Roz, you're going to have to take a look at this'."

"And so I spent the honeymoon reading his book, Harlen Coben's book, so my husband was really happy about it. He had a great time," she jokes.

"But I was so happy I did, the book is so good and I read it in one sitting and the final chapter of that book for people that haven't seen it, it will blow your mind. You really don't think that the story is going there."

Missing You dropped on Netflix on New Year's Day and has proven to be another Harlan Coben adaptation success, with the series current top of the streaming service's most watched TV chart.

Audiences may also be familiar with Eleazar from AppleTV+ series Slow Horses, which has been renewed for a fifth and sixth season.

Asked what she could tease about the upcoming season, Eleazar wasn't able to share too many details.

"I'm in it," she joked, adding: "I think it diverges from the book a little bit and all I can say is that Louisa takes a surprise turn."

Slow Horses was renewed for a fifth season ahead of the show's season four premiere in September. Shortly after the season four finale, AppleTV+ confirmed a sixth season.

Missing You is available now on Netflix.
