BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Scott Mills has recalled the time he was almost sacked by bosses.
Back in November it was announced that Mills, who previously hosted the afternoon show, would be taking over from Zoe Ball as the new host of the Breakfast Show.
Speaking to Dermot O'Leary, Mills, who has been with the organisation since 1998, revealed that his time at the BBC was almost cut short following a booze-filled night out at the Brit Awards in 2001.

After O'Leary played a clip, in which Mills can be heard slurring his words, Mills said that angry bosses almost fired him from the job following the 2001 incident.
"That's called how to really nearly lose your job at BBC," Mills explained. "I had got carried away so much at the Brit Awards, because I had never been there before, and time just fast-forwarded, and somebody went, what time are you on air?

"And I said, 'Four?' and they went, 'Well, it's two now'. Oh no! It was horrendous."
Describing his blunder as "naive and stupid", Mills said that bosses were "quite rightly" angry, revealing that he had spent the rest of his night asleep in the Radio 1 den.

"There was a thing, at Radio 1 then, called the den," he said. "This probably wasn't allowed, but why go home when you can have a couple hours of sleep in the den? I mean, I was young, I'm in my 20s, right?"
Previously opening up about his move to the Breakfast Show, Mills praised former host Zoe Ball, saying: "She's done an incredible job on this show over the past six years, and I am beyond excited to be handed the baton."
"It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry [Wogan], Chris [Evans] and Zoe to be the new presenter of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show."
