Neighbours' cast have shared their emotional reactions to the show's sudden cancellation.

Yesterday it was confirmed that the soap had been axed by Amazon after the streamer saved it following its first cancellation in 2022.

Since the shock announcement, many of the show's stars have posted their feelings towards the news on social media, with Krista Sinclair actor Majella Davis sharing an Instagram post from the show's recent 40th tour.

"Wish it still felt like this," she wrote. "This was something else…. Our UK fans are SOMETHING ELSE! love you all so much!!!!"

Former star Lucinda Cowden (Melanie Pearson) similarly said on her Instagram Stories: "So very weird to hear this news after hearing so much love for the show during our tour… sending love out to all the fans, cast and crew."

"I am so fortunate to be able to work with the kindest, most talented people from all divisions of production," he added.

Ben Jackson (Max Ramsay) said he "will forever feel so grateful for this wonderful show" and that "there's so much left in store before we pack up shop".

"Forever grateful for everything this show has brought me and so many," echoed Lucinda Armstrong Hall (Holly Hoyland). "I feel so lucky to have worked with this cast/crew for the past two years. Family."

Cara Varga-Murphy actor Sara West said the axe was "such a loss for the Australian film industry", adding: "The opportunity for emerging creatives to learn their craft and work among some of the best in the business is second to none. I'm incredibly grateful to of been a Ramsay resident."

Meanwhile, Nathan Borg (Curtis Perkins) wrote: "Sad day for all but thank you for everything, giving me a career and deaf character."

Matt Wilson (Aaron Brennan) said the "loyal" fan support ​"warms my heart", reflecting: "This show has changed my life and the lives of literally thousands of Aussie cast and crew.

"How cool is that. We are still filming and have plenty of mind blowing storylines coming up that we can't wait for you all to see! Time to celebrate this beautiful thing called @neighbours."

"This show has been my life for 3 years now and I couldn't be more grateful for it," wrote Emerald Chan (Sadie Rodwell). "All the moments and memories we have created will be something I miss and cherish. To my whole family of cast and crew I love ya."

Lloyd Will (Andrew Rodwell) added: "What a time it's been!!"

The tributes come after TV Tonight reported that the cast and crew were not told about the cancellation before it hit the press.

This was confirmed by Neighbours' assistant digital producer Chelsea Chua, who wrote on X/Twitter that they were "not" aware beforehand.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach Comedy.
