Neighbours' Max Ramsay will be faced with new heartbreak in upcoming episodes, as he begins to fall for Holly Hoyland.
Following Yaz Shields' recent misguided revenge plot against Holly, Max was left with severe burns after being subjected to a huge electric shock caused by a faulty transformer Yaz provided for Erinsborough's Lights Up show.
In new scenes that will air over the next week, Holly – who was originally meant to turn on the sabotaged equipment before Max stepped in at the last minute – realises that Max's hand injuries will make it hard for him to work.

She heads over to the garage, announcing that she wants to help him out at work while he recovers in an attempt to take her mind off Yaz's actions.

As Holly works alongside Max, she is surprised to find that she's enjoying her time at the garage, and seeing how hard she is working causes Max to see her in a new light too.
But things take a sour turn when a pair of dangerous-looking men arrive at the garage in a car with Queensland number plates. When he sees them, a visibly shaken Max immediately closes up for the day with no explanation.
Holly later questions Max on his strange behaviour and he reluctantly admits to her that he's been trying to avoid a dangerous situation that he left back in Brisbane.

Despite Holly's horror at finding out the truth, she agrees to keep Max's secret for him and the pair's bond grows even stronger.
It isn't long before Byron Stone and Sadie Rodwell notice that there's something between Max and Holly, and they're pleased by the idea of the pair getting together.
Sadie takes Holly aside and encourages her to go for things with Max, pointing out that Max isn't like the dangerous men that she's been involved with in the past.

But with Holly now aware of Max's secret past, she makes the difficult decision to put a stop to their relationship taking a romantic turn, explaining to Max that what she needs right now after her recent ordeals is safety and stability.
While Max accepts her wishes, he's secretly devastated by her words, as he's developed real feelings for Holly.
Is there any hope of a romantic future for the pair, or will Max's dangerous secret keep them apart?
Neighbours airs these scenes on Wednesday, January 29, Thursday, January 30 and Monday, February 3.
