Neighbours actor Jason Donovan has revealed why he won't reprise his role as Scott Robinson again.
33 years on from his last appearance in the Australian soap, Donovan returned alongside on-screen wife Kylie Minogue for the planned finale in 2022, but in a surprising turn of events, Amazon Freevee's investment meant that the show was revived one year later.
Speaking to The Standard, Donovan confirmed he'd said no to another invitation, adding: "I just felt it's done. Neighbours for me is done".

On Neighbours being revived following his one-episode comeback, he commented: "I was surprised. I didn't not expect it to come back in a way. I mean, I didn't broadcast that, but I sort of felt that it probably could happen. Those reunions tend to happen.
"Neighbours changed my life. To have not been part of the spirit of the celebration of 36 years of an Australian TV show about suburban life that sort of made the world sit up and notice our country, and to not give a nod to that, wouldn't have been in good spirit.

"I wanted to do that and I reached out to other people that I know, Kylie, Guy [Pearce] and a few other people and said 'maybe we should make this happen," recalled Donovan, whose daughter Jemma portrayed Harlow Robinson in Neighbours up until 2022.
"So if the net result is the rebirth of the show and give more people work as a result of the attention that it got, great. It was a nice nod and a nice little touch."
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
