Former Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis has spoken about the on-set moment that he'll never forget.

The actor, who played Geoff Campbell in the Australian soap between 2007 and 2010 before moving onto other acting and presenting roles, reflected on his time in Summer Bay during a new interview with News.com.au.

When asked about his most iconic story from the soap, he shared one about Alf Stewart actor and Home and Away legend Ray Meagher.

"I remember my first ever call back with Ray Meagher," he said. "He could tell I was really nervous and he turns to the casting director and says 'take five, love'.

"So here I am, 16 years old, my first ever big callback and Ray gives me a little five minute acting class. I was clearly nervous and he just wanted to help me improve. It's a lesson I'll never forget."

Earlier this month, Meagher turned 81 years old, and multiple cast members paid tribute to their beloved co-star.

Last year, before he turned 80, he explained that he would rather celebrate turning older in a low-key way rather than a big party.

"I've always shied away from celebrations a bit. I used to joke with Lynne McGranger because she would tell everybody her birthday was coming up a month in advance and keep celebrating it for a month after," he said.

"I am perfectly happy to slink under the radar and go along quietly, but I love a party, meaning a few beers with a few friends."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first-look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
