Perri opens up to Tane about the events that led to Carl's death. He explains that while he was struggling to breathe during Carl's brutal attack in the swimming pool, Carl must have hit his head and drowned. Tane does the right thing by calling the police to deal with the situation, but Perri rushes off to avoid facing the music. Rose is suspicious when she arrives, wrongly assuming that Tane is hiding Perri somewhere.
Perri seeks out help from Theo, who agrees to hide him out at the garage. The next morning, the two friends hear an announcement on the radio confirming that an arrest warrant has been issued for Perri.
Meanwhile, Bree complains to Remi that Levi seems to hold a grudge against her following Alf's health scare at the hospital. However, Remi later witnesses Marilyn also behaving coldly towards Bree, angry that Alf could have died because of her. This tips off Remi that there might be more to the situation than Bree is letting on.

Elsewhere, Leah gets upset when Justin fails to show up for their anniversary evening and she fears that he may be cheating on her with Claudia. The opposite is true, as Justin firmly rejects Claudia as they remain trapped at the remote cabin together.
The next morning, Justin goes on a long walk to find some phone signal and manages to get through to Leah. He's disappointed when Leah refuses to hear him out. Leah declares that Justin shouldn't bother coming home, as she won't be there.
