Home and Away legend Ray Meagher has opened up over his shock health scare.
The actor, who plays Alf Stewart on the Channel 5 soap, recently underwent triple bypass surgery when a routine health check revealed there were several blockages in his arteries.
And, speaking recently, Ray described the experience as "a second chance", revealing that the surgery had made him 'count his blessings'.
It follows his character Alf having a heart attack onscreen.

"[The surgery] was all very quick," Ray told New Idea.

"I didn’t have time to think about it and that was probably a good thing."
He added: "When you wake up after the surgery, you do think ‘Well, here we go again! How good is this? A second chance.
"It does make you count your blessings."

Ray's surgery and comments follow his earlier reveal that he would be cutting his Home and Away hours, meaning fans will see less of Alf Stewart on their screens.
However, he's now back filming the soap, so expect to see Alf back in action soon.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
