Hollyoaks lines up another potential battle for the Osbornes and the Keanes next week as Charlie prepares to flee from the village.

Terrified at the thought of going to prison after his involvement in the recent road crash, Charlie hides out at the Osborne family home while Darren and Nancy plot his next move.

Darren and Nancy were mortified this week when Charlie fled from court rather than facing the music at his hearing. However, in the coming days, Darren takes the lead as he decides to help Charlie avoid justice.

No-nonsense Beth Keane encourages Caleb to spy on the Osbornes, convinced that they're hiding Charlie.

What to Read Next

Beth is bang on the money, as Darren confides in Nancy and Frankie that he's arranging for Charlie to leave on a train to Newcastle without anyone knowing. Although sensible Nancy is convinced that Charlie going on the run is a terrible idea, can Darren talk her round?

Charlie prepares to leave for the station, but he finds himself frozen with fear and unable to drive when he experiences flashbacks to the recent crash.

Darren is concerned to find Charlie still at home when he should be long gone, but he promises to always be there for him.

Meanwhile, Beth invites the Osbornes around for lunch the following day – but as she's still suspicious over their secretive behaviour, this is all part of a bigger plan…

Beth takes control of organising the meal. Frankie explains that she can't attend as she's due to get her boot taken off, but Beth refuses to take no for an answer.

Jack celebrates the fact that his two families finally seem to be merging following weeks of arguments, but he could be in for a nasty surprise as Beth's true agenda becomes clear.

Beth manages to steal a house key from the Osbornes, then encourages Maddox to break into their home while she distracts Nancy, Darren, Frankie and Jack during the family lunch.

Will Maddox go ahead with the plan – and will he find Charlie still hiding out?

Charlie Behan, who plays Charlie, told Inside Soap: "There's a big risk. Well, he's hiding in his own home, which is really the last place you'd go, isn't it?

"He's asking for trouble and I think Beth's already cottoned onto the plan."

He added: "Charlie's already in trouble for the crash, but as he's on the run, if he's caught and it's not on his own terms, it could end up even worse for him."
