Hollyoaks’ Lucas Hay takes a huge risk next week, when he decides to pop the question to his boyfriend Dillon Ray. But Dillon’s true feelings seem to lie with Lucas’ dad Ste, so how will he respond to this unexpected proposal?
"Dillon and Lucas’ relationship has been as rocky a road as you can imagine recently," says our insider.
"While Dillon’s secret crush on Ste was previously shut down, Ste has now reciprocated his advances, and they shared a passionate kiss in Liverpool. Lucas remains unaware of this, and so he plans a big gesture that no one was expecting…"
The events in Liverpool were significant for the young couple; Dillon planned to finally end his relationship, but when Lucas threatened to harm himself in the club, he vowed to never leave his struggling partner.

But Dillon hasn’t stopped thinking about his moment with Ste, and in next week’s scenes he confesses to Frankie that he no longer loves Lucas.
While Dillon’s feelings are fading, Lucas’ feelings are continuing to grow, and he receives some words of affirmation that encourage him to take action.
"Struggling Leela makes a kind observation next week," reveals our source. "She tells her nephew Lucas that she can’t imagine him and Dillon not being a couple.

"This is exactly what Lucas wants to hear, and the affirmation of his damaged relationship gives him the encouragement he needs to make things much more serious."
Lucas gets to work arranging a surprise for his partner at The Hutch, convinced that his and Dillon’s issues are in the past and they can move on together.
Clueless Dillon arrives at the restaurant, and with Ste and Leela watching on, Lucas gets down on one knee and proposes to him.

Having accepted that their romance is over, Dillon is completely blindsided by Lucas’ bold gesture, but how will he respond to the shock proposal?
Dillon’s answer is being kept under wraps for now, but in the aftermath of these scenes, he decides to confide in Frankie once again and admits that he has feelings for someone else – Ste.
Frankie will be understandably shocked by this bombshell, but what advice will she give to Dillon about how to handle the situation?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
