Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has confirmed the details of Marie Fielding's twisted plan, which has seen her fabricate a story in which she is pregnant. Tonight's (28 October) episode saw two separate storylines collide, with Marie sensing an opportunity.
During last week's dramatic 30th anniversary episodes, it was revealed that Marie had faked her pregnancy in a bid to extort money from former flame Tony Hutchinson. He discovered this, but was shot before he could tell other people.
Monday's (27 October) instalment, a special crossover with Brookside, saw Marie leave the village and head to the close in a bid to start a new life, though the lies were immediate as she introduced herself as Pauline.
Diane clocked her deceit, and tonight's part began with her telling Marie that she was going to the police. The pair ended up accusing each other of being responsible for Tony's shooting, leaving them at an impasse.

Marie shared her theory that Diane had the strongest motive given Tony's repeated unfaithfulness to her, though Diane dismissed the idea as "stupid". Marie said that she wouldn't go to the police if Diane didn't, and said she was moving to Liverpool with Arlo.
"We both had our reasons for wanting to kill Tony. It's in both of our interests to keep quiet about this, isn't it?" said Marie, with Diane seemingly agreeing - albeit reluctantly - to keep her end of the bargain.
Marie, however, had already begun scheming, and had her eye on Cleo McQueen as her plan became apparent. With Cleo going into labour, Marie rang Billy Corkhill from Brookside and said her baby was "coming soon".

With Marie already eyeing up another villainous move with Cleo, will Diane call her bluff and go to the police anyway? Or will she agree to keep things quiet for the good of her family?
Elsewhere in the episode, there were some revelations about Froggy Black, with the first being that he already knew Donny Clark's daughter, Gemma. The second was his connection to Sully, who was confirmed to be Froggy's son - could more trouble be on the cards.
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
