Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star Louis Emerick has teased which character will have a key role in the soap's crossover episode with Brookside.

Over the weekend, it was announced that Channel 4's previous soap, also created by Sir Phil Redmond, would feature in a special Hollyoaks episode as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

The crossover will return to the famous Brookside Close, with some classic characters set to appear, and now Emerick has shared a few extra details.

The Donny Clark actor responded to fans' questions on social media about the special, plenty of whom asking how the soap will deal with Emerick and co-star Alex Fletcher previously playing different characters on Brookside.

While Emerick remained tight-lipped about that, he did tease that Froggy Black, played by John Middleton, is the link.

"Keep your eyes on #Froggy, superbly played by @john_Middleton_," he wrote in one post. "Froggy Is The key to, who,what+where...in the whole, #OaksBrookyMashup."

"'Froggy' has All the answers," the actor said in another post, before adding in a third: "Wait+see #FroggyKnowsAll."
