Hollyoaks is looking to keep things fresh in Soapland with a new storyline directly involving a fan.
The soap is giving one superfan the chance to appear on their favourite soap, though not for very long.
One lucky viewer will be whisked off to the world of Hollyoaks for what is understood to be a very short stint. The winner will get to film "an exclusive scene" with the soap's resident serial killer Jez Blake, played by Jeremy Sheffield.
This means that the character played by the fan will meet their untimely death at the hands of the villain — an unmissable opportunity for any true soap lover.

On Hollyoaks' social media platforms, cast members Nadine Mulkerrin and Anna Passey, who play new couple Cleo McQueen and Sienna Blake, teased the competition in a clip posted earlier today.

"We've been working on something, something really fun," Passey begins in the video.
"It's a soap first and we are really excited about it, and we think that you are gonna be excited about it too," she said.
The link to apply is now live, with fans being asked to throw their hat in the ring through a form submission and a 30-second video in which they can share their love of Hollyoaks.
Viewers can apply for seven days starting today (14 July), with more details about the next stage to be revealed in due course.

Meanwhile, Jez will be busy keeping his streak of murders and his affair with Liberty Savage on the low as his wedding to John Paul McQueen is just round the corner.
Jez previously slept with Liberty to throw her off the scent about his book of murders, but she has since developed some feelings for him.
