Hollyoaks has aired Dillon Ray's big confession along with an unexpected twist involving Ste Hay.
Viewers will know that either Dillon, Frankie or Vicky shot and killed corrupt cop DI Alistair Banks marking an end to their exploitation storyline.
Rex Gallagher is currently in prison for the crime after taking the fall and viewers were unaware which one of the teens was responsible for the murder until last week, when Dillon confessed to Ste.
In today's episode, Donny told Vicky and Dillon that he had received a copy of the ballistic report and they began to panic.
Vicky made Dillon promise they would stick together, saying: "Whatever my dad finds in that report, we are going to stick together. Okay? Don't do anything stupid."
Ste received a voicemail from Dillon saying that he was going to confess to the shooting and that he had caused enough pain.

"Ste I can't do this anymore. I need to confess to killing Banks," Dillon said in the voicemail, which left Ste in shock.
Dillon tried to tell Donny and Misbah the truth, ignoring Vicky’s attempts to stop him. "I have something to tell you. I've done something. Something terrible," he said.
The confession was halted when Ste barged in and covered for Dillon, saying the truth is he’s relapsed and needs help.

Alone, Ste told Dillon that Lucas needs him and to keep his freedom he must sort himself out and support Lucas.
"I've just given you your life back Dillon. And you're not going to tell anyone about Banks and you're not going to prison," Ste said.

He continued: "My son needs you to be his lifeline again, so tomorrow you're going straight to NA. You're going to get sober and you are going to step up and be the partner that Lucas deserves. Otherwise you can kiss goodbye to your freedom."
Rex was left waiting for Ste to visit him, but Donny turned up instead and told Rex the ballistic report confirms the gun he handed in wasn’t the murder weapon. Donny then asked Rex why he confessed to a murder he didn't commit.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
