Hollyoaks has revealed that Dillon Ray will struggle further in the aftermath of the exploitation storyline.

Dillon has been involved in the Channel 4 soap's major storyline over the past few months, which saw Grace Black and Rex Gallagher team up with corrupt police officer Alistair Banks in the running of a criminal operation.

The gang's primary means of income was the trafficking and exploitation of the village's teen population, with Dillon – alongside Frankie Osborne and Vicky Grant – being used in several nefarious ways.

Dillon and Frankie subsequently became addicted to drugs during the traumatic period, which took a turn last week as Banks was gunned down in a dramatic confrontation. After much drama, Rex partly redeemed himself as he took the blame for the killing.

To make matters worse for Dillon, his estranged love interest Lucas Hay was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour, with the teenager being placed into an induced coma after complications arose from the surgery.

In next week's scenes, Ste is overwhelmed with emotion as the hospital staff discuss the possibility of bringing Lucas out of the coma. After Tony questions Ste's behaviour, the figure admits that he harbours worries about being in the best state to support his son.

Dillon, meanwhile, pays a visit to Lucas in hospital, but the character is promptly ushered away by Ste, who reasons that his son needs to be kept away from any drama as he begins the road to recovery.

Emotionally crushed, Dillon also begins to suffer from withdrawal symptoms following his drug addiction, with the teenager taking drastic measures for a quick fix as he steals Liberty Savage's pot of cash from the market.

Following his latest lapse, will Dillon be able to call upon his loved ones – whether it be friends or family – to support him in his bid to get clean? And what will Lucas say regarding their romantic future?
