Hollyoaks has revealed that Lucas Hay will suffer a terrifying collapse in a huge new storyline.

The teenager has been recovering following his break-up with Dillon Ray in recent weeks, though he has still shown he cares for his ex-boyfriend after becoming worried about his involvement with Grace Black and Rex Gallagher.

Rex, the boyfriend of Lucas's father Ste, has been in Lucas's sights as he became closer to Dillon, with the latter mysteriously disappearing alongside Frankie Osborne earlier this week as tensions escalated.

Next week's scenes begin with Lucas taking care of baby James, though Rex walks in to find the teenager unresponsive as the baby's cries ring out. Rex, whose relationship with Grace has become strained, suspects his half-sister of being involved in Lucas's collapse.

Lucas's collapse was previously teased in the spring trailer for the Channel 4 soap, with Ste also seen urging his son to consider surgery for his ailment - what exactly caused the dramatic collapse?

Lucas isn't the only figure to mysteriously collapse in the village in recent weeks, with Sienna falling to the floor last month. With initial tests proving inconclusive, Sienna suspected that she may be suffering with Motor Neurone Disease, which her late uncle Patrick had been diagnosed with.

It soon became apparent, however, that evil was afoot, with the cause of the collapse being a poisoning from her grandmother, Martha. To make matters worse, her father Jez followed suit as he wanted to control his daughter - will Sienna discover the truth?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
