According to The Mirror, Lomas will be leaving the soap in order to spend more time with his family. The actor said he feels "ready" for a break after working "so hard".

"I'll just be having a baby so it will be nice to spend some time at home with the newborn," he added. "My dad passed away last year and this made me re-evaluate everything and realise that family is what's important in life."

Teasing what the future holds for Warren, Lomas revealed that his final storyline won't be disappointing. "It's going to be a great exit and I'm sure Hollyoaks is going to go on to do great things," he promised.

The actor also expressed his views on Hollyoaks' new format change, which will see a big shift in the number of weekly episodes.

"Hollyoaks is going down to three days and I think this could be a really good thing, for them to really focus on their content," Lomas said. "These days people's attention is a lot less due to things like mobiles and now they'll be able to binge all the episodes in an hour!"

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
