Former Hollyoaks star Daisy Wood-Davis has revealed the sex of her second child.

In June, the actor, who portrayed Kim Butterfield on the long-running Channel 4 soap up until 2018, announced that she is expecting another family member with co-star and husband Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy.

In a new Instagram post shared today (August 1), Daisy shared a video of the couple finding out they are to become parents to a little boy.

"It’s a…" teased her caption alongside a video montage, before confirming: "What a responsibility this is, a job I do not take lightly… bringing two boys and one day men into this world."

Sharing how they learnt the news, Daisy wrote: "As a 3, in bed, on Father’s Day morning with cake. We chose Green for a boy and Red for a girl ❤️💚 and I was around 15 weeks which felt like the right time for us."

"I am outnumbered, ladies!!" she joked, signing off by thanking the place where she underwent her private scan.

The video shows the couple arriving for the gender reveal scan before jumping to Daisy, Majid and their 2-year-old son Asa in their bed, cutting the cake to unveil the baby's sex.

Daisy ends the video by showing fans a glimpse of her growing baby bump, posing alongside a personalised baby grow that reads "baby brother" and several ultrasound scan print-outs.

Hollyoaks star Jacqui Boatswain (aka Simone Loveday) was one of many to send their well wishes to the family in the comment section of the post. "Congratulations, my loves," she wrote.

The Voice Kids UK judge Pixie Lott also left a message, saying: "So special."

Daisy and Majid (who portrayed Jesse Donovan on the soap) began dating in 2016 after meeting on set and announced their engagement back in 2019.

The pair were married in 2022, with eldest son Asa arriving in September 2021.

Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
