Hollyoaks has cast Tyler Conti as newcomer Abe Fielding, with the Safe star set to make his debut later this week.
The star will play the “passionate” and “charming” personal trainer, who enters the village in a bid to win the attention of Cleo McQueen, who is also returning in search of Joel Dexter.

As per the press release, Abe is described as: “very loving, friendly, and approachable, but under the surface there’s more than meets the eye,” with the character having an “unexpected” family connection in the village.
“Abe is a charming working-class young lad with a manipulative streak a mile-wide,” said Conti of his character. The ingredients of a deeply troubled past and a complicated family life have brewed his dangerous temper, especially when things don’t go his way.”

“I can’t wait for Abe to explode into the Hollyoaks village, you can expect danger, manipulation, and one heck of a messy family that comes with it,” he added.
Abe is set to be heavily involved with the McQueen family, with the character making his debut on Friday’s (January 19) first-look episode via streaming; this episode will be aired on E4 on Monday (January 22).

The latest addition is part of an overhaul for the soap, which has seen several additions to the main cast. Former stars Emma Rigby and Charlie Clapham will soon reprise their roles as Hannah Ashworth and Freddie Roscoe respectively, while Rita Simons has joined as Marie.
“Marie’s got a lot of ties here,” said the former EastEnders star of her new role, which sees her play Joel’s mother. “I think there’s going to be quite a lot of trouble between quite a few characters, and you will just have to keep watching to see…”
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
