Hollyoaks has released a new teaser for its winter episodes, confirming a shocking turn of events for Mercedes McQueen.
The character is currently in the middle of a big storyline, conducting an affair with Warren Fox behind the back of her now-fiancée Felix.
However, it seems things will get even more dramatic for Mercedes in the near future, as a new teaser trailer reveals that she will go missing.

In the clip, we see police officer Zoe looking at a "missing" poster featuring Mercedes, before the trailer shows Warren and Felix searching the village for her.

We also see Mercedes in a church, asking "JC [Jesus Christ]" how they are "getting out of this one".
There is also a shot of Nana McQueen slapping Warren – could he be involved in her disappearance in some way?

The brief trailer also shows Romeo giving Peri a fright when she's caught sneaking around at night, while we see Maxine and Carter get cosy under the mistletoe, with love also in the air for James and Ste.
Recent scenes with Mercedes saw Felix get down on one knee and propose to her, to which she accepted. However, both were unaware that Warren was secretly watching.
Warren then left Mercedes shaken after warning her in a voicemail that if she didn't tell Felix about their affair, he would.
"I'm not gonna sit back and watch you destroy my best mate's life," he declared. "So, enjoy what you had tonight but you need to tell him about what we've been up to by tomorrow. Because if you don't, I'll tell him myself."
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
