Madelyn Smedley has confirmed her exit from Hollyoaks, with her final scenes having already aired.

The actress, who rose to fame on BBC gameshow The Traitors last year, made her debut as Rayne Royce's cutthroat talent agent Faye Fuller earlier this summer.

However, in the wake of Rayne's shocking murder and Faye having a solid alibi due to being with Prince McQueen at the time, Smedley's guest stint on the Channel 4 soap has now drawn to a close.

Confirming her departure, Smedley wrote on Twitter/X: "Faye Fuller over and out dallyn! Thanks for having me @Hollyoaks, an unreal experience. Best bit was my little girl was with me the whole way through, how crazy! #Hollyoaks #thatsit".

The update comes shortly after the star announced that she and her partner Tom have welcomed a baby girl into the world.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, she wrote: "Welcome to the world Shelby Rae, love you so much already."

Although it doesn't look like Smedley's character was responsible for Rayne's murder, the actress does have her own theories as to who the culprit could be.

Romeo Nightingale turned against Rayne before her death, and Smedley thinks it would be "Shakespearean" for him to be the killer.

"I think it was Romeo who did it, because if Shakespeare did it, you know how Romeo and Juliet has a lot of killings and deaths. I think Hollyoaks would probably do that because of the passion," she said.

From Monday, September 25, Hollyoaks will stream first online via Channel 4 each weekday. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
