Love Island's Laura Anderson addresses split from Hollyoaks' Gary Lucy for first time

Former Love Island star Laura Anderson has publicly addressed her split from Gary Lucy for the first time.

Laura, who is currently expecting a child with the former Hollyoaks star, took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday (February 22) and hit back at claims that the two split because she wanted him to move to Scotland with her.

"I had no intention to comment on the breakdown of my relationship with Gary. However, due to what has now been publicly shared by other parties, I have been left with no choice," she began the post.

"Gary and I are no longer together due to multiple reasons which will remain private," Laura continued, claiming they had planned to move to Essex to raise their baby.

"However, since the breakdown of our relationship, I have remained at home in Scotland. My priority is bringing my baby up in a calm and stable environment," she added.

"I never asked or expected Gary to move to Scotland. I fully support him living in Essex to be close to his four amazing children."

The post seemed to be in response to Gary claiming to The Sun last week that Laura had apparently asked him to move to Scotland with her.

"Laura did want me to move, but I have my responsibilities here. I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it's very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time," he said.

While the two, who met on the most recent series of Celebs Go Dating, are no longer together, the soap actor had nothing but kind things to say about Laura.

"I think the world of her. She's carrying my child and I love her even more than I did before because of who she is and what she is doing," Gary said. "It's incredible. She's doing a wonderful job."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
