Hollyoaks' Verity fighting for life following brutal attack

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

It's been a tough time for Hollyoaks' Verity Hutchinson lately following her discovery of brother Eric's dark secret.

With a spate of women having their drinks spiked across the village, Verity was horrified to find that her brother is a member of an incel forum that promotes misogyny, leaving her furious at his sinister beliefs.

She eventually decided to stick by her brother and offer him help, but her compassion led her to danger in tonight's (December 5) episode.

From the outset, Eric told Verity that the forum is all he has, but she assured him that he could make friends if he let his guard down, describing him as a "good person".

In an attempt to force Eric's hand, she took his phone and posted a message on the forum, telling the other members that he wouldn't associate with them from this point on.

Once on the site, she saw a vile post which referenced Maxine's recent attack, leaving her disgusted by the vitriol displayed on the site.

Mason then informed Eric of Verity's actions, leaving him nervous at the prospect of his sister seeing the group's most sinister material. In a bid to appease his fellow members, he said he'll take care of Verity, promising to silence her.

The plan came to fruition, with Verity being attacked as she frantically attempted to contact Maxine.

As she struggled to contact her friend, an unknown assailant hit her over the head and pinned her underneath a bookcase. As the credits roll, viewers will be left to wonder if Verity will make it, and just who her attacker was...

Elsewhere, Goldie's concerns about Bobby were left unheard by the rest of the McQueen family, whilst Shaq enlisted the help of Nadira for his proposal plans to Verity.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
