Hollyoaks star Eva O'Hara promises big scene for Verity and Eric

Hollyoaks star Eva O'Hara has promised a big scene is on the way for Verity and Eric.

Starring as Verity Hutchinson on the soap, O'Hara has opened up about an upcoming scene she shares with her on-screen brother Eric (played by Angus Castle-Doughty).

In an interview with Inside Soap, the soap star said that she really enjoys working with Angus, and that they recently filmed a "rare" scene between just the two of them.

"We had a four-minute scene the other day, which is rare for a two-hander, but being able to delve into our characters like that is great.

"I really enjoy our chemistry on set – we've had some really poignant scenes together recently," she added.

For the past few months Verity's brother Eric has been part of a storyline exploring radical misogyny, which has seen him trying to radicalise young members of the village, most recently Mason Chen-Williams.

In recent scenes, Verity's brother was accused of spiking Maxine Minniver's drink, and he was later shown spiking Lizzie Chen-Williams's drink while she was on a night out.

While Verity has been reluctant to believe the accusations about her brother, Eva said she is close to finding out the truth: "There are some very big discoveries coming up which put Verity in jeopardy. Verity ends up as Eric's only point of contact and when that goes awry, it will ricochet for Eric."

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the Inside Soap Awards 2022, Eva explained Verity's reasons for supporting Eric: "It's that whole 'you can't choose your family' type of thing. There's that really inherent need to support the ones you've grown up with and you share blood with.

"I think it's really been pushed now – and there's certain things coming up that Verity can't shy away from."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
