Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn has called out the show for showing double standards over nudity.
Dunn, who played Mandy Richardson, was fired from the show after she opened up an OnlyFans account, but a recent episode of the Channel 4 soap showed Owen Warner’s character Romeo completely in the nude, even flashing his bare bum on camera.
The scene raised questions among fans, calling out the hypocrisy of the show.
One fan tweeted: "So Hollyoaks fire Mandy for posing in her lingerie on only fans last year. Tonight's episode just had fully naked Romeo back shot! Slightly double standards no?"
Dunn was in agreement. Addressing the subject, she posted on her Instagram: "Interesting how male nudity is deemed appropriate/suitable by the company for their 'youth audience' but a female taking ownership of her own body is not."

She later added: "Just a reality check in. I'm not always super positive and happy. This week I'm feeling pretty low and finding it hard to find the positives."

Meanwhile, Warner is currently in Australia, gearing up to appear on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Speaking ahead of entering the jungle, he said: "My character has been written out whilst I take part in the programme. He has gone to Spain for a little bit.
"I am excited for people to get to know me as a person and not a character. People are so used to seeing me recite lines that have been written for me, and most of them are not what I would say myself."
Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
