Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks actors Richard Blackwood and Tomi Ade, who play the father-son duo Felix and DeMarcus respectively on the show, have revealed some more details about the duo's special episode.

In case you missed it, DeMarcus is currently in a youth detention centre after being wrongfully accused of murdering Saul. He tries to get through his days without any trouble but recently, he's been sucked into the illegal business of smuggling spice by a bully at the detention facility.

Meanwhile, Felix is trying to do everything in his power to prove his son's innocence.

In an interview with Inside Soap, the actors sat down to talk about what we can expect from their upcoming special episode.

What to Read Next

"[This episode] really investigates the sins of the father bestowed upon the child," says Blackwood.

"It deals with the things Felix has taught DeMarcus that probably weren't right, as well as the things he was absent for in his son's life. This episode really delves into that father and son dynamic and the damage it causes when these rifts are not repaired," he added.

"This episode is focused on these two characters finally getting the chance to talk things out," says Ade, "and really get to the root of where their problems first started."

He also added that he hopes the audience can relate to it in some way or the other.

Blackwood also talked about what it's like to be such an integral part of this episode.

"It's testament to what we've been doing on the show so far that they can have Felix and DeMarcus as the main characters of the episode and know that people will still want to tune in," he said.

"I'm really grateful that Hollyoaks believes in us and in the story we have to tell. This episode brings issues to a head between our characters – but the story isn't over," Ade teased.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
