Kyle Kelly has desperately pleaded with his partner Nancy Hayton for help as he continues battling depression in Hollyoaks.

This week has seen Kyle's dependence on drugs spiral out of control when he caused a car accident with dealer Jordan Price (Connor Calland) while baby Oscar was in his care.

In Tuesday's (May 26) first-look episode, Nancy (Jessica Fox) felt she had little choice but to lie to police and claim she'd been driving once she learned Kyle had been high on drugs at the time of the crash.

Luckily for Kyle, Jordan had only suffered a minor injury in the bust-up and didn't want the police getting involved, since he had a stockpile of drugs in his car boot.

Explaining why she'd taken the rap, Nancy angrily insisted: "I didn't want you to spend the night in a prison cell, but let me make one thing very clear: You endangered the life of my child. This is far from over."

Once they got back home, the couple had it out as Nancy lit into her partner for being "that desperate for a joint" that he endangered the life of young Oscar.

Kyle could not articulate why he was using the drugs to cope with his depression. Even when Nancy offered to help him kick the habit, Kyle broke down into tears as he refused.

"If you won't even try, then you have to leave right now," she demanded, with Kyle defeatedly admitting: "I know."

Tuesday's first-look episode ended with Kyle leaving Nancy a heartbreaking voicemail as he tried to explain what his despair felt like — and why the drugs helped him to feel normal again, if only momentarily.

"Please help me," he begged.

Next week's episodes will see Kyle facing yet another setback when his close friend Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) is pressured into turning his back on him.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
