Hollyoaks teens Sid Sumner and Juliet Quinn could be headed for a split as the latter's feelings towards Peri Lomax grow.
Juliet has been growing increasingly conflicted about her feelings for Sid in recent scenes, and stars Niamh Blackshaw and Billy Price have now hinted that the relationship may not last.
"[Juliet] loves Sid as much as you can love someone that you're not attracted to," Niamh explained. "They're in this together and they're always going to be best friends.
"I really hope that Sid doesn't get too upset that Juliet can't reciprocate his feelings, so that they can develop a friendship – I think it would be the strongest friendship to exist."
Meanwhile, speaking about how Sid would react if he found out about Juliet's deepening feelings for Peri, Billy explained: "Sid's not as naïve as everyone thinks. There are a few moments that help him put some pieces of the puzzle together.
"At the minute he's doing all the chasing with Juliet, but there's only so much he can do without getting something back, and this is where he starts to realise that maybe that interest is somewhere else."

As for filming Juliet and Peri's growing relationship, Niamh revealed: "We've filmed the seeds of it. The way Juliet interacts with Peri suggests that her feelings are more than platonic.
"Peri is still very oblivious to Juliet's feelings, she thinks that Juliet's just this little kid that's going out with her foster brother, Sid. It's not even hit Peri yet but for Juliet things are moving forward."

Billy also spoke about the recent New Year's Eve flashforward that confirmed an unnamed fatality, admitting that Sid could be in danger.
"You get the vibe that Sid doesn't want to be working for Jordan and when Jordan asks him to do something, Sid will answer back a bit because he thinks he can. But then he has to put on a front, he has to sell the drugs and deal with bad people," he said.
"Sid's getting himself in too deep, so anyone in that situation is in danger. You didn't see Sid in the flashforward episode, so it could be him… I'm excited to see how all the points meet up though and how it ends."
Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
