Hollyoaks' Diane Hutchinson is facing a new romantic dilemma following her night of passion with her husband Tony's dad Edward Hutchinson.
Thursday night's (December 12) E4 first-look episode of the soap saw Diane (Alex Fletcher) reveal that she had an alibi for the night Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) was shot as she showed DS Cohen CCTV footage of her and Edward (Joe McGann) kissing at The Hutch at the same time as the shooting.
Although Diane has now been ruled out as an official suspect, she now has other problems to deal with as Edward urged her to stop feeling guilty about their kiss... before the pair ended up kissing again.
Next week's episodes will see Diane wake up alone in bed after a night with Edward, and she soon tells him it was a mistake and that she doesn't want it to happen again.
But Diane is later left with a dilemma when a disappointed Edward reveals he isn't on the same page, and admits he's besotted with her. Will Diane decide to move on from Tony with his sinister dad?
Of course, while Diane thinks Tony has skipped town to be with his 'other woman', leaving her to raise their children and plan his son Harry Thompson's funeral on her own, viewers know this is actually a lie that serial killer Breda McQueen (Moya Brady) told the village.

Instead, Tony has been trapped on Breda's pig farm over the past few months, after he found out that she's the village's secret serial killer.

With Hollyoaks' winter trailer teasing the moment that Tony is discovered by a shocked Mercedes and Breda's downfall looming in next month's late-night special, it certainly looks like it won't be long before Tony returns to the village.
And we can't imagine he'll be too happy about it if Diane does decide to embrace a relationship with Edward...
