Charity and Cain Dingle bonded over the dark times they're facing in tonight's episode of Emmerdale. Charity has been struggling after being sexually assaulted by Dr Todd, and after undergoing invasive examinations and reporting Dr Todd to the police, the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Dr Todd continued to blackmail Charity for money, threatening to expose the truth about baby Leyla, leaving Charity spiralling further.

Cain, meanwhile, has made the devastating decision not to go through radiotherapy amid his cancer diagnosis, which has torn his loved ones apart as they urge him to get help.
In tonight's episode of the ITV soap, both Charity and Cain continued to struggle with their respective problems while lashing out at those around them.

Charity encouraged Cain to talk to Moira Dingle and Liam Cavanagh, telling him that people care about him and "just want to be there".
But despite Cain's urging and asking if she had "ever thought about taking her own advice", Charity refused to open up about her own pain.

She admitted that she feels depressed and "keeps being a cow" to anyone who tries to help her, but wouldn't share the root cause of her feelings.
Later in the episode, Mackenzie Boyd admitted to Chas Dingle that he feels clueless and inadequate in supporting Charity, believing it to be due to postnatal depression.
It left Chas feeling guilty for keeping Charity's secrets about baby Leyla's paternity and Dr Todd's blackmailing, but will she reveal the truth?
Mack attempted to talk to Charity, but she batted him off at every turn, feeling overwhelmed and unable to be near him.
A tearful Charity sped off in her car, with no one knowing where she was heading. Will anyone be able to get through to Charity or Cain before it's too late?

It was previously revealed that tomorrow's episode will see Charity drive off to a lake, with Mack calling the police as he believes she is a danger to herself.
"Charity has reached the point where she cannot go on like this – she's completely traumatised," explains our soap insider. "She drives off and finds herself at this lake where she's just frozen, looking out and clearly close to the edge of a complete breakdown.
"After everything she's been through, Charity cannot cope with the emotional toll of what's happened. She desperately needs help."
