Emmerdale is set to be rocked by a new mystery this summer – after a flashforward reveals that a shocking crime has been committed.
In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment set to air next week, viewers will get a glimpse into the future as they see a grisly crime scene, with photographs being taken as evidence.
Tantalisingly, we'll also get to see who the victim is, with the following weeks and months offering vital clues of what's to come. But the big question is, what exactly has happened to this person – and who did it to them?
Ahead of us finding out the victim's identity on screen, we line up our top suspects and ponder what terrible fate may have befallen them…
Jimmy
News leaked that village favourite Jimmy will be leaving the show this year, as part of his wicked ex-wife Sadie's return. It's been a relatively quiet time for the only surviving member of the King dynasty, but Jimmy could meet his maker in the same way as his late dad Tom or brother Carl, and end up on the wrong side of a killer.

"Death has stalked the King family for years and Jimmy is the only member of the original clan – aside from Sadie – who is still breathing," teases our Dales insider. "There's no way he'd leave Nicola and the kids willingly, so could Jimmy be the unfortunate victim of a fatal showdown?”
Dawn
Dawn and Joe may be making a go of things now after he discovered her plan to leave him, but can they really live happily ever after? With rumours circulating that Dawn is set for a Dales exit in the second half of the year, she could end up being the victim of this terrible crime…
"Joe has promised to mend his ways, but can a leopard really change its spots?" ponders our source. "We know he's capable of despicable things – and let's not forget that Dawn herself once pushed Joe out of a window and tried to kill him! Could things turn sour between the lovers again, leading to bloodshed?"
Charity
Traumatised Charity has had a nightmarish few weeks following evil Dr Todd's blackmail and sexual assault. She found the courage to report the malicious medic, but Todd is still walking free and could be pushed to attack Charity again…
"Charity has been on edge for weeks due to the pain and suffering she's gone through," muses our spy. "Surely the soap gods wouldn't be so cruel as to have Todd violate Charity once more?
"Then again, if the truth about Leyla's parentage is finally revealed to the whole village, maybe someone else will lash out at Charity in anger, and cause her some serious harm!"
Dr Todd
Dr Caitlin Todd may have left the village behind for now, but her sins could catch up with her since many of the villagers have just cause to want her six feet under. When the truth about her atrocities against Charity are revealed, Todd will be a pariah. Will someone make sure she can never harm anyone again?
"Todd is loathed by the people who know her true colours, and it's only a matter of time before the full horrific story is out there," shares our informant. "Caitlin Todd should watch her back because there are going to be plenty of folk who'll be willing to stab her in it!"
Vinny
Happy chappy Vinny seems the least likely person to become embroiled in a violent crime, but shocking twists are always possible in the Dales. He's fallen in love with Lewis and is finally living his truth – but with Lewis's long-lost dad Kev back on the scene, could Vinny find himself in the firing line?
"Mandy would be inconsolable if anything happened to her beloved boy," adds our insider. "But with volatile Kev in the village, Vinny could be in grave danger! We've heard whispers that Vinny is set to leave, so could this horrific crime be the catalyst for his departure?"
