"Having been pulled back from the brink in the aftermath of her sexual assault, Charity now wants to move forward and get justice," begins our Emmerdale insider.
"Todd has managed to avoid any repercussions from her actions so far, but the police don't know the full story – and neither do Sarah and Jacob. If Charity wants Todd to pay, will Leyla's paternity secret go public?"

While the authorities are aware of Todd's horrific physical violation, they're not aware of her background with Charity over baby Leyla. Todd knows Ross is the baby's biological father, and demanded thousands of pounds in hush money in order to keep Charity's betrayal under wraps.
With the assault charge failing to stick, Charity informs DS Reid that Todd was also blackmailing her, and explains the distressing details of the deceit that got her into this mess. Reid takes a statement from Charity, and is sympathetic to what she's been through.
Although it's acknowledged how serious this is, and that it obviously gives Todd motive for the attack she insists was consensual, Reid warns Charity the blackmail allegation will probably be treated separately from the sexual assault charge.

"It's baby Leyla's christening, and Charity insists on going and pretending everything is fine," continues our spy. "Keeping what she's been through to herself has churned Charity up inside, she's been driven to some dark places and is struggling to cope with the continued secrecy."
Determined to make Leyla's big day special for Sarah and Jacob, Charity buries her pain once again. But after a chat with sympathetic newcomer Serena, Charity vows to fight on and make sure Todd is taken to task…
