Emmerdale spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (29 May), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale's Robert Sugden is officially out of jail after six years – and ready to fight for his ex-husband Aaron Dingle again.
The revelations air in Thursday's hour-long episode following the bombshell cliffhanger of Robert's return.
Robert's comeback aired in the closing moments of Wednesday's episode, as he interrupted his half-brother John's wedding to Aaron before the vows could be exchanged.
The dramatic scene played out in similar style to dream sequences which have been airing on Emmerdale all week, which caused some speculation over whether everything was really as it seemed.

Fortunately, Thursday's episode confirms that this isn't just one of John's wacky nightmares – Robert really is back in town and determined to win back Aaron.
In tense scenes, Robert begs Aaron not to marry John but is given his marching orders following his drastic attempts to ruin the day.
Aaron then struggles through his vows and seeks an escape from the ceremony, leaving John heartbroken as their happiness hangs in the balance.
When Aaron catches up with Robert, he finally gets some proper answers over what's going on.

Quizzed on how he even knew about the wedding, Robert admits: "It's not complicated. If you didn't want anyone to know, you should've told them to stop posting things all over their socials.
"You know why [I'm back]. Because every single second I spent inside, I never stopped being in love with you."
As for the finer details, Robert secured his release from prison via an appeal following the revelation that he may not have been the sole person responsible for Lee Posner's death.
Back in 2021, it was revealed that Lee's brother Luke also attacked him that day, which could have played a role in his eventual demise.

Robert wasn't interested in using this to lodge an appeal at the time, but changed his mind after further years behind bars and managed to get his sentence reduced.
"You already know that Lee got into a fight with his brother and hit his head on the day that I attacked him. And if that hadn't happened, he might not have died when I did what I did," he tells Aaron tonight.
"A few years locked inside with only my own thoughts for company, I kind of changed my mind. It took a while, but here I am."
Will Aaron still want to marry John now that Robert is back? Fans can see how the drama plays out in full when the episode airs at 7.30pm tonight – or it's streaming early now on ITVX.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
