Emmerdale spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.
Emmerdale has introduced a mysterious new man in a coma in tonight's episode, kicking off a new twist in John Sugden's story.
The latest instalment of the ITV soap saw Aaron wake up in the morning and ask his fiancé why he spent the night on the sofa. John played it off like it was just due to Aaron's snoring and said that it "wasn't that deep".
John later met Kerry Wyatt — who had a fall due to low blood pressure which John failed to check when seeing her — in the café, where she was laughing and joking.
At The Hide, John told Dr Liam Cavanagh he saw Kerry and everything was fine, but Liam said John had misdiagnosed her and he now has to go through the procedure of checking the histories of everyone John has seen in the last two weeks.
John was annoyed and accused Liam of talking to him in a "patronising" manner; snidely asking "Who has more experience here?"

"As what? A doctor?" Liam replied, stating that whatever experience John has, it's not as a doctor.
Due to John's conduct, Liam had to issue him an official warning.
Aaron then turned up and, while he eventually got John to explain what happened with Liam, a snappy John soon asked his other half to leave him alone.
"If you carry on like this, I'll leave you alone permanently," a frustrated Aaron replied.

Speaking to Victoria later on, he told her: "It's happened again, I've missed things."
He eventually admitted that someone he treated while in the army a long time ago had a really bad reaction to the medication, and he suffers with the memory.
Victoria relayed her conversation to Aaron and hoped John will be more open from now on, but warned Aaron not to push the issue too hard.

In the episode's final scene, the soap introduced a new character as John spoke to someone who was in a coma.
"You and me, what we gonna do, eh?" he said. He then cryptically added: "But what am I gonna have to do?"
There's more drama to come as John and Aaron's wedding comes closer. John shows more controlling behaviour, and a well-meaning plan to reunite John with his old army contacts might bring some dark secrets to light...
