Emmerdale's Joe Tate receives a stark warning over his prognosis in Wednesday's episode, as his sinister plans start to fall apart.
Joe urgently needs a kidney transplant and has set his sights on his uncle Caleb Miligan as a donor after discovering that he's a suitable match.
In recent episodes, Joe has hatched a desperate plan to kidnap Caleb and have his partner-in-crime Dr Crowley perform the transplant at a private hospital without consent.
Wednesday's episode sees the dark plan begin to unfold, as another of Joe's secret accomplices does the dirty work in targeting Caleb.
