Emmerdale actor Jonny McPherson has shared the cast's doubts over the epic limo crash stunt.

The most recent episodes of the ITV soap saw several lives hanging in the balance, after two vehicles were involved in separate devastating accidents involving 18 villagers.

Caleb Miligan, who was driving one of the cars, was forced to swerve to avoid an oncoming truck, while Charity Dingle, who was driving the other, also had to swerve after her son Noah suddenly stumbled into the road.

Opening up on the night shoots involved in filming the stunt, he continued: "Usually we turn up to work, it’s always a pleasure, but we film most of our scenes in the same sets, with the crew and the cast and there's a kind of workaday mentality to it.

"But having night shoots on location where everything's new, but there's also a lot of money spent on the stunts themselves, cranes, jibs, the special effects - there was a real sense of collective endeavour.

"So over the course of two to three weeks of working with the same team, at night in the dark, it felt much more like being part of a theatre company. It was really exciting and a great privilege."
