Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale actor Lucy Pargeter has warned fans about the unfolding double limo crash storyline, stating that it might be tough to sit through.

Multiple characters fates are hanging in the balance after the events of Friday's episode, with the aftermath set to play out across all of next week's episodes (spoilers here and spoiler pics here).

"There are some harrowing stories, it's not an easy watch. It's not an easy demise of anybody," she said.

"No one gets out unscathed one way or another in either this story or the stories that fan out from this event."

Despite the dark nature of the scenes, Pargeter said that she really enjoyed filming the storyline.

"It was something that was anticipated for a very long time and something that was gonna be a logistical nightmare because it was all night shoots and just before Christmas. But then actually doing it was great fun," she explained.

"I'll tell you what was amazing was seeing the lake. Thank goodness for this filming block we didn't have the cold weather that we've just had.

"There was kind of like the fake snow in the air that made it feel quite frosty, even though the weather, thankfully, was about 10 degrees at night. But yes, it was long. It was arduous, but it was really fun to do."

Next week will see at least one character die, and Lisa Riley admitted recently that most of the cast are constantly worried that they might be written out at any point.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
