Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter has cast doubt on the chances of her character Chas Dingle heading down the aisle with Liam Cavanagh anytime soon.

Next week's episodes see Liam plan a romantic proposal for Chas, just three months after they finally became a proper couple.

Liam sets his heart on the idea of popping the question after learning that Take A Vow is hosting an exciting raffle, with a night in a limo as the first prize.

When Kerry wins rather than him and arranges a girls' night, Liam desperately tries to keep his plans on the road by organising a boys' evening in a separate limo and roping in Mandy Dingle to help him surprise Chas.

Discussing Liam's plans, Lucy admitted: "Chas has no idea at all. I think it's all very new, as she's not been out of her marriage for very long. She's very, very quick to jump from relationship to relationship.

"I think she's quite happy with the way things are going and that it's quite a slow burner. I don't think she is expecting him to take that next step."

Asked whether Liam should read the signs as he gets thwarted at every step, Lucy replied: "Yes, I think he should probably take the hint. Bless! She's not quite ready yet. I don't think they're at that stage. It's only very, very early days. He's very eager."

The night in question sadly ends in disaster for the 17 characters who are involved in the night out.

Both vehicles swerve off the road during the journey – with one left in a particularly perilous situation when it crashes onto a frozen lake, risking the lives of the group inside.

Lucy added: "I'm really excited. I think it's going to come out of the blue. They are a series of episodes that don't stop. There are so many people involved.

"There are so many storylines in there and there is so much that happens in every single scene, that I'm just hoping that the audience have got their hands on their knickers and that they are ready for a ride!"

Emmerdale airs the crash on Friday, February 14 on ITV1 and ITVX.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
