Emmerdale star addresses Aaron's future after death storyline

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has addressed his character Aaron Dingle's future on the soap following Anthony Fox's death.

Last night's episode saw Aaron confront Anthony at Caleb Miligan's depot, wanting him to acknowledge his crimes after he was revealed as a child abuser who'd preyed on his daughter Ruby when she was a teenager.

Haunted by memories of being abused by his own father, Aaron brutally beat Anthony and left him for dead. He later returned to the depot with his partner John and found Anthony dead. John then insisted on disposing of the body.

While some fans have been concerned over what Anthony's death means for Aaron and his future in the Dales, Miller has now confirmed that this is just "the beginning of a long road in this storyline".

Taking to Instagram after the episode aired, the actor shared a still from the moment John confirmed to Aaron that Anthony was dead, joking in the caption: "'Don’t say that John, I’ve got two kids and a mortgage to pay! I need another contract!!!!!'"

He went on to thank fans for their "lovely messages" about the episode, before paying tribute to Nicholas Day, who plays Anthony.

"Nicholas Day is one of life’s beautiful gifts," he wrote. "On set and off set. A shame he had to leave us @emmerdale because everyone fell in love with him from day one – me being at the front of that queue."

As for how the storyline will progress, Miller teased: "It’s the end for Anthony – but it’s the beginning of a long road in this storyline and where it goes from here is told brilliantly from the incredible team upstairs to the equally incredible team on the floor downstairs.

"I hope it helped anyone who may have been affected and of course as always, if there is anyone who has been affected by this storyline - there is so much support on the ITV & Emmerdale websites – for those who feel they want or need it," he concluded.

"Sending so much love, support and thanks for seeing the fiction but recognising the reality that this happens. And it’s never too late."
